My Favorite Mug

(c) 2019

I have several favorite mugs. This one reminds me to be optimistic-such as now when I get daily rejections as I search for an agent.

It’s difficult sometimes.

My other favorite statement mugs remind me about my goals for writing (draw out emotions and help the reader live the plot)–and lists insults penned by Shakepeare (or whoever wrote those plays).

Of course, I much prefer to use my pretty teacups.

(2019)

I have several teacups-all dainty. They help me get into an historical mood. Right now my evil twin is writing books based in the Regency and Medieval eras. These aren’t meant for kids, but for their moms.

What do you use to remind yourself to see the happier side of life?

Let me know. Sonja

P.S. Don’t forget to get your copy of Guinness Become a Therapy Dog at special prices- if you’re in the UK!

Sale Prices!

I arranged for special pricing on these two ebooks.

The sale on the Guinness the Therapy Dog book ended yesterday, I hope you were able to grab a copy with the lower price!

The sale on The Voyage ends late on May 9. If you are interested in this nonfiction account of one man’s search for an end to persecution in the 1600s, then this is your book. It is written as an easy reader and has wonderful illustrations.

This book should be especially interesting to members of the Wing Family of America, as it chronicles the life of Reverend John Wing in England and Europe.

I hope you enjoy these special prices, and the ebooks! Sonja

Book Sale!

From time to time I put my ebooks on sale. If you’re in the market for an ebook, check this website for announcements. I don’t have a specific schedule, but I do announce the sales here and on my Instagram (@author_sonja_danielson).

The Fairies of Carlow series is filled with middle grade books. That means chapters, no illustrations, and a more complex plot. These aren’t Young Adult books, so the subject matter should be appropriate for those readers of any age who are advanced enough to handle chapters.

The Voyage and the Guinness the Therapy Dog series are illustrated books. They are meant to be easy-to-read books, suitable for those learning how to read.

The Voyage is based on historical fact. It is set in the 1600s and looks at English history and how a preacher travels through Europe in search of religious freedom.

Guinness is a real therapy dog, and Lucy is his real-life older sister. They live with me. The books are based on Guinness’s adventures and his relationship with Lucy.

I hope you enjoy them. Sonja

Happy Christmas Eve!

Tonight is the night when Christians observe the birth of Jesus Christ.

It’s also the night that Santa Claus comes down the chimney. He fills stockings and leaves gifts under the Christmas tree.

Santa’s ride is immortalized in the poem, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’. It’s one of my favorite things to read. I’m a sucker for a good story written poetically, which is why I love Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets.

As a gift to you, dear reader, I have put together some deals for the next two days. Effective immediately, The Fairies of Carlow: The Gilding ebook and The Voyage ebook are available for no charge. That’s right. They’re free only until the night of Christmas.

I also scheduled special pricing on The Fairies of Carlow: The Commoner for today and tomorrow only.

Click the links on the left-hand margin of this website, or search for my name, Sonja Danielson, on Amazon.com and you will automatically get the free ebooks or the specially-priced ebook for The Commoner.

I wish you a peaceful and happy Christmas with all the glad tidings of the season.

I wish you a peaceful and happy Hannukah, also, with all the amazing things the holiday brings.

Have a wonderful fun-filled day. Sonja

Today is a day to remember your favorite things. Since it’s the day after Thanksgiving, I like to remember watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the National Dog Show.

What’s interesting is today is Square Dance Day, which melds nicely with the parade memories! You can try all those moves you saw on T.V., or, if you’re lucky enough, live while in New York City!

Guinness likes the dog show, too. A Bernese Mountain Dog has yet to win Best In Show, but I think Guinness has a shot at the title–especially if they score big points for lovability!

We spent Monday evening at the library and Guinness listened to some good books–read by some good readers! Those kids really know their words and even acted out the dialogue. It was fun! Guinness likes to lie right alongside the kids as they read. He rolls onto his back and hopes for a belly rub. He always gets one.

The Fairies of Carlow: The Commoner ebook is still under special pricing until midnight tonight. Hurry to the amazon.com page and order your copy! You can also use the link in the left margin of this website.

Have a great day after Thanksgiving! Sonja

Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s an important day for all those in the United States. Today is Thanksgiving. My new book, The Voyage, would be a wonderful read to mark this day. It tells of the trials of a man who traveled throughout Europe as he searched for religious freedom.

His family settled first in Plymouth Colony and then to Sandwich, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. This illustrated easy-to-read book is available exclusively on Amazon.com.

I’m also offering Book 3 of The Fairies of Carlow, The Commoner, at special pricing starting today. This book is a middle-grade chapter book and takes place in a fairy kingdom. The Commoner tells the story of a fairy princess who chafes under the restrictions placed upon her. She flees the palace and lives as a commoner. Will she return to her royal life?

I hope you take advantage of the special pricing, which ends on November 30, and also take a look at my newest book.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my U.S. friends! Sonja

Happy Pricing!

Countdown deal starts today!

Special pricing of the ebook for The Fairies of Carlow: The Outsider begins today! Use the link in the left margin of this web page, or search for my name on Amazon.com to go to the ebook. The special pricing will populate automatically.

Today is the lowest price. It will go up tomorrow and return to full price on November 18, 2019.

I hope you take advantage of this pricing.

The Fairies of Carlow: The Outsider is Book 2 of The Fairies of Carlow series and continues the riveting and heartfelt saga of the fairies that inhabit the Kingdom of Carlow. Princess Morgen (do not use her full name!) is from the neighboring Kingdom of Meath and has been raised on stories of the failings of the Carlowian royal family. She believes the barbarian king rules a hostile land; however, her father has arranged her marriage to the royal prince as protection against the marauding Red Caps. She is horrified by the edict and cannot imagine living her life tied to a heathen such as Prince Stephen. Does she face a cold and forbidding future, or will Prince Stephen defy his reputation and provide Princess Morgen with the love and support she craves?

I hope you take advantage of the price cut. Sonja
